The proposal is for a vibrant, mixed-use development that provides much-needed housing and retail and commercial spaces.

About the Proposal

The redevelopment of the existing Officeworks building will deliver new and diverse housing and retail and commercial space. The proposed concept design is for a 30-storey building above basement car parking to deliver 251 apartments.

Other key features of the concept design include:

  • Over 10% of units to be provided as affordable housing (32 units)
  • Communal open space and gym facilities for residents
  • Landscaping along Parramatta Road

Site location

235 Parramatta Road is strategically located along the Parramatta Road corridor, which is currently undergoing revitalisation. The site is 780 metres east of the new Burwood North Metro Station, providing excellent access to Sydney’s wider public transport network.

Surrounded by amenities including shops and local services, the site is within a walkable precinct with strong potential for local renewal.

What is ‘affordable housing’?

Affordable Housing units are leased to eligible tenants paying less than 30% of gross household income and is managed by a Community Housing Provider. In NSW, affordable housing is typically developed with assistance from governments through planning incentives or other mechanisms.

Astrolabe Group has been commissioned by Mantino to deliver community engagement as part of the State Significant Development Application (SSDA). 

Your responses will be considered in the preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement for the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure as part of the application process.

Next steps
